Covered Bridge Park
On the north side of the Zumbro River is the scenic and 64-acre Covered Bridge Park. It contains nature and trails, MODERN CAMP SITES, restrooms/shower, shelters, picnic areas, KIDS KINGDOM PLAYGROUND, horseshoe, softball fields, SWIMMING POOL, stream fishing, FRISBEE GOLF, volleyball area, and ice rink. Across Hwy. 58 in East Covered Bridge Park are a modern SOFTBALL COMPLEX, full outdoor basketball court and SKATE BOARD PARK.

Fishing/Boating
Young people enjoy stream fishing locally in the Covered Bridge Park (North Fork/Zumbro River). For the best area trout fishing, try Hay Creek, north of Goodhue, Mazeppa Creek (Trout Brook) and Cold Spring Brook west of Zumbro Falls. For lake fishing and boating, go to Lake Pepin and Lake Zumbro.

SNOWMOBILING, BIKING, HIKING
When complete, the Goodhue Pioneer State Trail will connect the cities of Red Wing, Goodhue, Zumbrota, Mazeppa, Bellechester, and Pine Island for a distance of 47 miles.
It will be a part of a trail system that connects two very popular and well-used trails, the Cannon Valley Regional Trail in Red Wing, and the Douglas State Trail in Pine Island.
Currently, completed paved trail goes 5.5 miles north of Zumbrota’s Covered Bridge Park and from Hay Creek to Red Wing.
Near the Covered Bridge and Hwy. 58 (Main Street), a visitor center/trailhead is proposed.

Tennis Courts
Two outdoor tennis courts are located behind the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Primary School, 199 Mill Street, Zumbrota.
Trail system within the city
Several miles of paved and scenic walking trails are within the city. The trail follows along-side Jefferson Drive on the city’s west side and goes northward into the Covered Bridge Park, over an old railroad trestle, through beautiful hardwoods and over the Zumbro River by way of the Covered Bridge.

The Zumbro Valley Rifle Club was founded in 1954. Facilities include a Clubhouse, 50 yard Range, 100/200 yard Range, Pistol Range, Archery Range, Trap Range and Skeet Range.

Zumbrota Golf Club was ranked in a Star-Tribune survey to be southeastern Minnesota’s second best public golf course. The original nine holes (one of the oldest in southeastern Minnesota) is tree lined and was built in 1927. In 2005, a second nine was added using a Scottish links style layout. The course is located one mile north of Zumbrota on County Road 6. Open to the public.

ZM Public School
Sports Facilities
On the campus of Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School and Elementary School are outdoor and indoor basketball courts, running track, outdoor tennis courts, children’s playground and fields for baseball, football, and softball. The ZM Cougars play sports in the Hiawatha Valley Conference.
